We are currently recruiting for an Environmental Health & Safety Administrator for our Thomaston sawmill in Thomaston, GA. The Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator will be responsible for the support, data control and organization of environmental health and safety related documentation and activities. The successful individual will play a supporting role in promoting and ensuring compliance of the environmental, health and safety program. This position will work closely with the Mill leadership team and the Area EHS Coordinator.
What You'll Do
Prepare data and statistics.
Maintain environmental health and safety system and data.
Ensure that environmental health and safety activities and training are current.
Provide environmental, health and safety support to supervisors and EHS Coordinator.
Prepare meeting materials.
Plan and organize functions/meetings.
Assist in implementation of environmental, health and safety systems.
Assist the Area EHS Coordinator and site management team in the creation and revision of environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
Coordinate activities including safety committees, employee-led safety initiatives, safety improvement project teams, etc.
Assist in organizing and tracking of safety action plans, including emergency response planning and drills.
Assist in the maintenance of employee environmental, health and safety communications and training programs.
Tour Mills/Site regularly with the goal of Interacting with team members and looking for opportunities to mitigate risk.
What You Offer
Completion of a Diploma/certificate in office administration
2-3 years of related experience in environmental, health and safety
Experience in a sawmill or industrial environment preferred
Ability to work well in a team and be a strong team player.
Demonstrated strong analytical, problem solving, and logical thinking skills
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) to create professional data summaries and reports
Ability to lead and support management of change processes.
Proficiency in web-based software
Ability to work efficiently to meet key deadlines and business targets
Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management and organizational skills
Strong multi-tasking skills

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
