Middle Grades Special Education Teacher (Severe Profound)

TITLE: Special Education Teacher APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Apply online QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Licenses and/or Certificates - A valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in assigned teaching field as required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. GOAL: Provide instruction, assess and encourage student progress, and manage the learning environment. PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1 Teach at an appropriate instructional level using appropriate, research-based methodology for instruction. 2 Ensure full implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for caseload students, including but not limited to, implementation of accommodations, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and related services. 3 Develop, monitor and review the Individual Education Program (IEP) of each caseload student annually or more frequently if needed. 4 Use data to monitor student progress and respond to adequate and inadequate student performance. 5 Compile, maintain and submit all required reports in a timely manner (e.g., IEP, FTE, progress reports, etc. 6 Maintain open communication in a cooperative working manner with parents regarding their student's educational program. 7 Support students with encouragement. 8. Maintain appropriate student behavior in the classroom. 9 Assist administrators in the supervision of paraprofessionals. 10 Implement assistive and instructional technology as directed by IEP, including providing technical assistance to all professionals working with students and/or families where appropriate. 11 Utilize positive behavior techniques to maintain appropriate student behavior in the classroom. 12 Collaborate with other educators and related service providers to ensure student progress. 13 Demonstrate knowledge of special education regulations and state board rules pertaining to students with disabilities. 14 Adhere to the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia, as established by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. 15 Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position. 16 Use time efficiently. 17 Maintain effective physical setting for instruction. 18 Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner. 19 Follow professional practices consistent with school and system policies in working with students, students' records, parents, and colleagues. 20 Ensure adherence to the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia, as established by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. 21 Integrate the use of technology and multi-media in the curriculum. 22 Participate in training programs and apply learned concepts in the classroom to increase student learning. 23 Review current development literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility. 24 Ensure adherence to appropriate safety procedures. 25 Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies and administrative directives. 26 Perform other duties as assigned.Important Notes ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
