Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

ZOe Pediatrics is looking for a CMA to join our team in Thomaston, GA. Under Supervision, the CMA position performs tasks in efficient patient care, medical charting and coding, patient care, customer service, and possess a passion for working with children. Duties include basic medical care, lab work, and updating medical charts, follow-up calls, answering client/referral/pharmacy calls under direction of Physician/Nurse Practitioner.
The CMA role is an essential function in our offices. The position will rotate shifts to fill time slots from hours of 7:30AM-9:00PM Monday- Friday, 9:00AM-9:00pm Saturday and 9:00AM-6:00PM Sunday.
Education/Experience Requirements
Certified Medical Assistant - Nationally Certified
Preferred 1-year experience with Pediatrics, Family Practice, GRITS and VCF
Minimum 1-year CMA experience
Must have or obtain PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Certification within 90-Days
Must have valid Driver's License and reliable means of transportation
Job Requirements
CMA - Certification in good standing
Adhere to company policies and procedures and all Federal, State, and local medical service requirements, including HIPPA Privacy & Security.
Ability to rotate in multiple office locations as needed
Ability to follow-up and communicate verbal and written
Capable of adapting as business needs require
Ability to take instructions, comprehend and follow through effectively
Ability to ensure that diagnosis correlates with procedure, or exam, requested
Adheres to company and clinical dress code
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
Ability to work with physicians, referral sources, patients and other team members
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision perform basic (i.e. - identifies the patient's chief complaint, takes vital signs, height, weight and etc.), and ensures smooth patient flow through the office.
Inputs and Updates medical records accurately, correct form and WCC visits are registered, and ensuring codes are correct.
Communicates well with other staff members and is a team player.
Makes every effort to ensure that ill patients are comfortable until seen by a Physician or Nurse Practitioner.
Initiates actions on any assignments given by nurses and physicians.
Perform labs efficiently and all assigned specimens are labeled correctly.
Assists nurses in health care activities.
Assists with stocking the examining room and special treatment rooms with needed supplies on a daily basis.
Performs other necessary duties as required by the Business Manager, Chief Clinician or others to meet the goal of providing primary health services at Z e Pediatrics.
Participates in all required audits.
Responsible for assessing the patient lobby to ensure patients are not waiting too long.
Participates in the Quality Improvement activities for Z e and performs duties in accordance with applicable Federal and State standards.
